Heart-Centering: Why It's Important and 3 Easy Ways to Get There
I came across this photo by Julia Syva on Instagram this week. As I looked at it, tension melted from my shoulders and my heart softened. It was cuteness overload! I could not get over the sweetness of their smiles and slow, gentle way of being.
I learned later that these sloths are not actually real (they are stuffed animals!) but it didn't matter, for looking at the photo propelled me out of linear time and into the ever-present now—perhaps the most 'real' experience we will ever have of the heart's capacity to love. Being in the heart gives you the superpower of accessing other dimensions beyond what we know as 3D.
What Does It Mean to Be in the Heart Center?
When you are in your heart center, you feel warm, uplifted, and joyful. Your energy field actually expands to about 6–7 feet wide. You feel open and expansive! When you are in fear, the field can contract to about an inch away from the body. You feel closed and tight.
Why Is It Important to Be in Your Heart Center?
When your soul decided to incarnate into your body, it agreed to be a part of a 'game' that it set up for itself. It thought, "Wouldn't it be interesting to come to this diverse planet, forgetting my connection to Source, and see if I can find my way back there?" The soul chose deliberately to experience limitation and separation so it could work its way back to love and therefore galvanize that love. Being human on Earth is a grand experiment in compassion.
Being in the heart center takes you out of the egoic mind and linear time. It brings you out of the illusion of separation and gives you access to higher dimensions, where creation happens a lot faster. Remember how your field expands to 6–7 feet when you are in your heart center? This expansive field allows Source energy to flow through you powerfully. From it, you will be inspired—able to access easily creative solutions and synchronicities. You will feel like your life is blessed with an ever-abundant flow of ideas, money, and love.
Rumi knew what it was like to dwell in the place of the heart:
Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing,
there is a field. I’ll meet you there.
When the soul lies down in that grass, the world is too full to talk about.
Ideas, language, even the phrase ‘each other’ doesn’t make any sense.
How Do I Drop Into My Heart Center?
The easiest way to drop into your heart center is to think of something that makes you smile. I will often think of my children when they were babies or toddlers being their joyful and fun selves. My heart immediately melts. Here are three ways to help you heart center:
Compile on your phone a stash of photos (baby animals!), videos, or jokes that you love and look at them when you need a boost.
Make a playlist of your favorite music and dance to it.
Use this aroma-point therapy practice: Wild Orange on CV17. I made a video to show you this short and easy practice and you can access it here.
It's important to have a plan for dropping into your heart center. Ironically, when we are in the lower, denser vibrations that don't feel good, we don't have very good access to the higher vibrations. They are harder to reach. If you have a plan, then you won't have to think too much.
Drop into your heart center several times a day. It is a way of connecting to infinite potential and love. And then watch! You will be delighted by what manifests in your life.
